How will I contact my boyfriend while he's serving in Singapore's military
How will I contact my boyfriend while he's serving in Singapore's military?
My boyfriend lives in Singapore and I live in the US. Though we are far away at the moment, we are very close and are planning on staying together and getting married some day. He is planning to go to school at the same college I am, but the only thing is, Singapore's mandatory military policy requires him to serve two years in the military before he can go to college. How will I contact him while he's in the military? He tells me you can not bring a laptop and the only way to keep in contact with anyone is by phone which only works locally. How will I talk to my boyfriend while he's there? Please nobody say it won't work out we are very close and in a very serious relationship I am simply asking what another way to contact him is.

Your boyfriend will not be staying in the army for the entirety of two years. That is ridiculous. Depending on his position within the army, he may be allowed to leave the army (it's basically like working, except that he may have to stay inside for days on end) every week, or even every day. And hence when he is not in the army, he will be able to contact you
