I would like to buy a laptop. New to Singapore. Which is the best season here in singapore to buy?
I will be staying here in singapore for another 1 year. Let me know the best season (month) in which i could get things in rock bottom price...

For all computer stuff, you can try Funan shopping centre (located near City Hall MRT station) for quality goods or Sim Lim Square (located between Little India or bugis MRT station) for bargain stuff. One trick is to really know your stuff well before going to these 2 places if not you will be ended up as a carrot (deliciously chop and strew) and always ask for a discount especially in Sim Lim Square. Singapore have 4 IT conventions per year - 2 at Suntec and 2 at Expo Changi. Next IT convention should be at Suntec during December. Every time there is a IT convention, It products have a drop in their retail prices. (That means every 3 mths, there is a marginal cut price for almost all IT products.) You should visit the IT convention to know the latest laptop prices and model but you do not need to buy them on spot. Compare the prices and do your homework on the IT specs before deciding on your prefered model.

for IT stuff, when the price goes rock bottom, you might have lose interest in it as it is way behind fad.... there is not really any best season except during christmas, the IT gadget expos in suntec or Expo. What you need to do is know what requirements you want for your comp and start shopping around, scours the newspapers for the offers on friday and saturday especially. SIM Lim and Funan are places you should hang out and had a gauge of the market price.

Definitely during SITEX or some other computers/electronics fair. They have about 2 or 3 such fairs in a year. You can get quality laptops at lower prices together with loads of freebies
