Internet Plugs in Singapore

Internet Plugs in Singapore?
My boss told me that he couldn't connect his laptop to the internet plugs in a Singapore hotel. When he asked the hotel for help, they told him that his cable wasn't powerful enough. Does anyone know where I can buy the right kind of cable in the US and what it's called? I'd like to add that the cable plugged in, but nothing was being transferred to or from the connection.

Crock of crap! I've been to Beijing, Hong Kong, Singapore, Shanghai, Tokyo, Seoul. An RJ45 is an RJ45 so long as it is Cat5/e/6 rating and should work on any 10/100Mb/s network. Powerful enough? CRAP! Their hotel network is experiencing problems and they always blame the customer. Cat5+ is an ISO standard used in networking and if a hotel has a guest networking system, that system was most likely set up by a qualified 3rd party vendor (as my company does)
