I'm in Singapore. My friend in USA will send me a laptop via USPS. Do I have to pay any fee (except USPS' fee)
Do I have to pay 7% of the laptop price when receiving it? If my friend send the laptop as a gift, I will not have to pay any fee. Is that right? Thank you.

you will have to pay all the fees if your friend does not do it for you> you didnt say how your friend is sending it to you> there is like over night express, differnet ways to do it> none is cheap tho> wouldnt it be cheaper for you to jsut buy one where you are at? as i was going to do this for a friend of mine in africa amd it cost more to send it than the computer cost new> so see i think this is a dum decesion on your part and your friends to.> you have import . export rules etc you have to go by> a few things so you need to contact your post office are where ever you have to go and find it out> it is not worth it.
Answer 4 :
yes.. you will need to pay for the 7% GST so advice your friend to declare the price as low as possible.
Answer 5 :
Make sure you have a power transformer for it, power in the US is 110 v so if you plug it in w/o one it will blow the computer. You will also need a converter for the plug unless the transformer comes with one to fit it.

i dont think you will need to pay for the tax. the shipper will pay for all shipping and necessary fees before even usps will accept his package. if it is a gift then i wont complain, but if you asked him to buy it and ship it then it would be cheaper to buy the laptop in s'pore. furthermore, you will need transformer, plug adaptors
