My friend....Nothing of quality is cheaper in China. The only thing that are cheaper are Cheap Chinese goods filled with lead paint.
Answer 2 :
Maybe......... While finding the exact acer laptop with the latest configs in Shanghai would be a little difficult, you can certainly find a Lenovo (China made) laptop that is of equal quality. Lenovo has a good reputation both in China and worldwide. It will almost certainly be cheaper for a high end Lenovo or other Chinese made comp than an Acer. Buying a laptop in China, you usually end up with the Chinese version of Windows unless you go through the proper channels. It is not easy to switch over the English windows as you have to install your entire OS again. Contrary to the previous comment, there are some high end goods that are cheaper in China. If you can find it at a street market, you can usually get it cheaper.

These kind of questions always seem to come up, the best thing to do is to know the prices well in your home country, and then you can easily compare prices when you get there. Always make sure that the warranty covers you in Singapore, most laptop manufacturers offer worldwide coverage. Also, consider any duty you may have to pay when you return home and other factors such as language and keyboard differences. Shanghai was recently named by the Wall Street Journal as the 2nd best place as far as prices in the world to buy electronics, after Seoul, but this may not be true for the particular item you're looking to buy. Unless there is a major difference in price, you're probably better off buying the laptop where you live, that way not only will you have service from the manufacturer, but from the store you bought it from as well, most stores have exchange policies that can protect you and it won't do you any good if the store is thousands of miles from where you live, especially with something like an expensive laptop
