Answer 6 :
no.1: Depending on what kind of shoes you want to buy, Nike's dunks are approx S$150++ while just track shoes etc. should cost around S$110++ no.2: Nike t-shirts usually cost around S$30-S$42 or even more but S$30-S$42 is basically the average price. no.3: I do not see anymore Heelys around here in Singapore. But a few years ago they were S$200. Chances are that they have dropped or are no longer sold here. no.4: Depending on what kind of laptop you want, the price differs. Usually a small 7"-10" laptop would be around S$999-S$1000++, while Sony laptops range about S$2000-S$4000. Do note that Microsoft word is not installed in the new computers unless they give it to you for free. Buying the license for Microsoft word will be around S$159-S$300+ no.5: Adidas sandals should be around the same price as Nike but chances are that you get it for less. no.6: HD cam-coders are around S$900-S$2000+ Again depending on what you want, and what brand. Hope it helps

DELL vs HP laptops. Which to buy for college purposes

DELL vs HP laptops. Which to buy for college purposes?
I'm into college now so i think i need a laptop for project purposes and to view my lecturers' powerpoint slides. I heard dell and hp are good for this uses but there are also pros and cons on both so it was really contradicting. I want use the laptop for powerpoints, words, excels and many other windows programmes. I may also use it for music entertainment, play some online games and facebook. and i download shows to watch so a memory of slightly above average will be preferred. I don't know how much memory do the shows takes but if you know please help me out :> Budget to be < S$1500, to be affordable and good to use at the same time. I'll like it to be easily portable and yet not small and not big..Just average. I do mind on the looks of the laptop. Not too.. scrimpy?(a word for this i don't know what you know what i mean) Not too much on the looks though because i trust there aren't those scrimpy laptops around anymore? Please state which model of dell or hp is better. You can state other brands if you think they suit my purposes, budget and memory..Provided i'll be able to find them in singapore. Not too much brands for confusion though, I will panick. x) Thank you very much and your sugguestion will be much appreciated!

Answer 1 :
Honestly, I have a vendetta against Dell, so I would say HP. That being said, either one will probably work for what you want to do. I would recommend a minimum of 3GB of RAM and a dual-core CPU if your plan to watch HD, otherwise 2GB of RAM and most any CPU on the market should handle standard def TV shows. If you can, find a laptop with a discrete or dedicated video card and that will really help with watching any sort of video. In case you were wondering, my vendetta against Dell has to do with them trying to pass off refurbished parts as new and typically having terrible customer support. My brand of choice is Sony Vaio, but that may be just over your price range.
Answer 2 :
Don't buy Sony, they suck. So does dell. My dad has a dell and its broken more then it works. It's literally falling apart. I have a HP and its so fast and quiet. I've never had a problem with it. Dells tend to get loud

How safe is it to take an Xbox 360 in your cargo luggage (not handheld)

How safe is it to take an Xbox 360 in your cargo luggage (not handheld)?
Alternatively, does Singapore Airlines let you take a laptop bag in addition to one piece of hand luggage? Economy class :P Or has anyone got any advice on how to store a 360 so it will survive rough handling at airports?
Xbox - 3 Answers

Answer 1 :
SAFE but it would be scanned at the airports, if you are not a bomber it would be alright
Answer 2 :
a well fitting box and thick styrafoam (cant spell that) either that or wrap a bunch of shirts and pants around it and put it in the bag. Its not very smart bringing an X360 on a plane, period, but if you have to those are the things to do. If you have the original box then youre golden, if not you'll need to find a well fitting one
Answer 3 :
I woulnt take it they might break it or do something else to it

How was your experience like at Cash Converters (Singapore)

How was your experience like at Cash Converters (Singapore)?
I want to sell off my old laptop (NEC brand). It comes together with a charger and thats all. How much do you think the price range would be? Also, I want to sell off some British artist CDs that I've not used, thou I did unwrapped the plastic when I first received them. One is Kaiser Chiefs "Off with their heads", Keane "perfect symmetry", Snow patrol "a hundred million sun" and James Morrison "Songs for you, truths for me". what would the price range be for each CD?
Singapore - 6 Answers

Answer 1 :
normally they buy at very cheap price, not worth selling there, depends on the quality and how old your laptop will be, maybe around $50-150, for english songs CDs will be around $0.50 - $1.00 per piece, call them for enquires:
Answer 2 :
From what i know about cash converters " BUY IN " systems and prices ( APX ). 1 ) Laptop / PC . * based on New prices 25 % form items between 2-3 years. * based on New prices - 10-15 % for those items more than 3/4 years. more than 4 years model . lower than 5 % of new prices. ie. you NEC laptop * working unit * about 2 years. their own record show that time New prices is around S$ 3000 . there will paid you for not more that S$ 750 . 2 ) CD to them use or not use before . just take as second hand . there in no difference in " buy in ' prices. Privet Import CDs will not buy in by them. only ORIGINAL CDs .and very selective for CDs / VCD / DVD. . English Song *ANY * just less that 0.50 cents. some may up to S$ 1.00 but no more than S$ 1.oo. you must visit them with the items for prices detail . by PHONE CALL. there never tell you about the buy in prices or any things about prices , before there TEST and TOUCH the real unit .
Answer 3 :
no bother. they dun pay much. after deducting the transport fare. it pratically giving the thing to them for free
Answer 4 :
from my experience, not advisable if you're selling anything good. They probably offer you prices in the cents per CD. 1. you may have to spend quite a bit of time on this : there's a very long queue when i went to their Jurong East branch one weekday afternoon, waited for over an hour just to see someone. 2. be prepared for some extreme low-balling; I actually had someone quoting me $6 (the coins' face-value) for a sterling silver coin set ( quite ridiculous, cuz there's a cert with it from the Singapore Mint guaranteeing the minimum value at ~$100) felt quite miffed over their "valuations" so in the end, i brought almost everything back home.
Answer 5 :
I suggest you to post it online or give it to someone that needs. My experience, cash converters pricing to horrible. No point wasting the trip.
Answer 6 :
It's all common sense. An old laptop if sold 2nd hand can sell for between $200 to $300. Considering there are not much useful functions to match with today's advanced software and programs, your old laptop can only fetch between $50 to $100
