Where to buy a laptop from?
I have friends and cousins living in the UK, Germany, Singapore and Bangkok... Which of these places will get me the cheapest laptop, and how much would the difference be compared to the respective price in US, and India?

Answer 1 :
Taiwan is generally considered the home of computer manufacturing. If you have a friend or relative that has access to merchandise from within Taiwan, without having to pay taxes or duties, this is probably your cheapest alternative. However, you'll end up with a computer made for non-english speakers, so the keyboard may not be standard, etc. Your choice

Answer 1 :
Of course.
Answer 2 :
Yes but bring headphones.
Answer 3 :
Yes, no problem bringing a laptop. Bring an extra battery, as most airlines only have "power ports" (for which you need an adapter) in business and first class.
Answer 4 :
Yes you can, I bring my laptop with me when traveling. It especially helps when the movie they play on board is not interesting. Just remember to keep it safe during your trip.
Answer 5 :
Yes you can. Once the plane is on cruising altitude, you can start using your computer
Answer 6 :
Yes, but if your laptop has a Wireless card in it, you should turn it off. Also, when the flight attendants tell you to turn it off when your taking off, PLEASE LISTEN! It's for a good reason.
Answer 7 :
a 30 hour flight? where the flip are you flying from? Anyways to answer your question, yes it's fine to take your laptop, you just have to turn it off during takeoff and landing. Once the plane is in the air you can use it all you want. But do you really have the battery life to last you 30 hours?
Answer 8 :
you can... but from what i understand only during steady flight... not during take off and landing... so yeah... feel free to take it with you... just ask about the take off and landing thing... any airport staff other than janitors and security should know
Answer 9 :
Yes, you can as long as you're not online. You can watch movies and listen to your music/cds or work offline

I like the Dell Latitude series, I own one and never had a problem with it.
Answer 2 :
i recomend getting the macbook. its a very high tech computer. if i could get it, i would for the following reasons: 1. you will never get a virus on it 2. you can run vista on a mac 3. you wont have nightmares with upgrades theres alot more reasons why macs are better than pc's. although there are some downsides, like it might get scratched if u dont care for it good, like an ipod. but for the most part it is better than a regular laptop. if u want something better that wont scratch get the macbook pro. its more expensive but its better than the macbook. a macbook with 120 gig hard drive is about 1300 dollars

I'm afraid the ground officer will refuse you to bring your cabin bag into cabin, dueto its restriction by limiting one handbag only. Otherwise, you'll be fined by couple of dollar to get into with all your stuffs.
Answer 2 :

hi, my bro just travelled from sfo to sin and to trivandrum in india.. his cabin baggage was 2 bags too.. 1 bag with 2 laptops, 1 his office one and another laptop his personal one, and another bag additionally, like a small suitcase. i understand one is your laptop backpack, and hand bag, and whats that cabin bag? rofl. yes, they do allow laptop bags, but try to stuff in 2 laptops into 1 laptop casing. handbag also is allowed, but what the hell is cabin bag? totally 2.. not 3.. ok? you get it?
Answer 4 :
Hand bag as in 'woman's purse'? Then that's fine. Laptop bag and cabin bag is fine. Most US airports allow at least 2 hand carry-on items
