Answer 1 :
What a pathetic avatar.
Answer 2 :
http://www.ozprepaidcards.com.au/callingcard/southafrica-phone-card.asp Here is a list of various phone cards . The green card or the value buster sound the best. No connection fee on those ones and about 9 cents a minute have a good read through . I use one to call uk and Nz and they are great you have an australian number to dial so that 20cents for the local call is on top. make sure you use your local number to call then you follow the prompts putting in your pin number before you dial the Singapore number.
Answer 3 :
get yourself a lebara sim card its costs a few cents per min,as long as you have an unrestricted mobile phone

It is very expensive to use roaming service. There is a scam where isp overseas claim you downloaded heaps of data and you will be presented with a bill equal to your month salary by our local ISP. No point arguing and its your words against the foriegn ISP. The trick is to check into hotels that offer free internet or charge a low daily fee. Get a Gmail and a Skype account you can use in internet cafe and for you to skype home cheaply

Answer 1 :
No, they don't check your laptop nor ipod content. I'm not sure about the visa stamp. I travel to Singapore quite often and they don't ask for a return ticket.
Answer 2 :
I wouldn't worry about your laptop or ipod: they're more interested in cigarettes and chewing gum (don't bring either!). Singapore immigration are unlikely to ask for your return ticket but your airline might when you check in. Any return ticket should be ok though. You'll probably get a 30 day stamp when you arrive but you can extend it (you can even extend it online at www.ica.gov.sg) or you can cross the bridge to Malaysia and get a new stamp when you come back. However the stamp when coming back from Malaysia will more likely be 14 days.
Answer 3 :
The customs officers will not check the content of you laptop or ipod unless there is a tip off. As for the entrance visa, it really depends on the country that you come from some people get 30 day others get 14 days. The immigration usually does not ask for your return ticket but may at times ask to see if you are financially ok to spend 14/30days in the country ie having enough cash (some friends from thailand have told me the immigration dept told them they need at least S$500 about USD$300) or some credit cards etc. One last thing, if your return ticket is after your visa expiry date then you can either go to the immigration dept which is located at 10 Kallang Road ICA Building Singapore 208718 (Next to Lavender MRT station) Tel: 6391 6100 Fax: 6298 0843 / 6298 0837 Website: http://www.ica.gov.sg Email: ica_feedback@ica.gov.sg Or you can just take a day trip into malaysia if you go via bus it should cost you no more than USD$1 and on the return leg you will probably get an extended visa for 2 week from the day you return. Oh point to add ... had a friend once who had 30 days visa and decided to visit malaysia for a day trip after the 3rd day in singapore ... upon returning he only had 14 days visa and not the original dates. Have fun
